Bill has over 30 years experience in economic geology. He has operational experience in gold and ferrous metals and resource modelling experience in many commodities. He has audited Mineral Resources and Ore (Mineral) Reserves for most commodities to international standards including compliance with the JORC Code, the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Canadian National Instrument NI 43-101 and the South African SAMREC Code.
Bill did his PhD on the Optimisation of Mining Grade Control and also has a Master of Geoscience in Mineral Economics. Since 2014 he has been the President of the Australian Geoscience Council (AGC) the peak body for geoscience in Australia. He is a long-standing Committee Member of the Australasian Joint Ore Reserves Committee (JORC), a Member of the VALMIN Committee and the Australian representative on the International IMVAL Committee.
He is a Past President of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists (AIG).
Bill has written over 30 technical papers developing the science of Mining Grade Control including reconciliation, geometallurgy and Ore Control.
He has been involved in global leadership and management roles at two large international mining consultancies. Throughout this time he also managed large mine evaluation projects, due diligence reviews, major audits and large studies.
